Dr. Li serves as the Assistant Director of DOE funded Industrial Training and Assessment Center at UC Irvine and CSUN (SMART ITAC), Director of Laboratory for Smart and Additive Manufacturing. Dr. Li is also the Affiliate Faculty at Terasaki Institute.
Dr. Li conducts research in Smart Manufacturing (Knowledge Graph-based Industrial AI, Multimodal Data Fusion for Autonomous System, Digital Triplet, Extended Reality), Additive Manufacturing (Metal AM, Design for AM, 3D Bioprinting), and Sustainable Manufacturing (Energy Efficiency, Life Cycle Assessment, Sustainability Analysis, Industrial Decarbonization, Recycling, Remanufacturing), mainly funded by NASA, DOD, DOE, NSF, CEC and industrial partners.
Dr. Li is the Faculty Advisor of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Student Chapter S327 at CSUN.
