Dr. Fietzer is a tenured associate professor, research curriculum coordinator, & director of the sports pro bono PT clinic in the Mount Saint Mary's University PT Department. She earned an advanced bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in classical studies from Occidental College. She earned her DPT from Mount Saint Mary’s University. She was involved in four years of full-time clinical PT practice in a broad range of settings and then earned her PhD in Biokinesiology from the University of Southern California for her research focused on biomechanics & neuromotor control.

Dr. Fietzer is a 2x funding recipient of the Foundation for Physical Therapy. Her research focuses on the influence of altered biomechanical & neuromotor control factors related to the development & recurrence of overuse injury. Her recent studies employed uncontrolled manifold analysis to examine differences in the sources & types of movement variability in healthy athletes & those with Achilles tendinopathy. She also explored the capacity for verbal cues directing attentional focus to alter neuromotor control.

Dr. Fietzer maintains a small private sports PT practice. She's provided medical coverage for Cirque du Soleil, several dance companies, the Association of Volleyball Professionals, & several USA Olympic team members. She's the treasurer for the Biomechanics special interest group of the APTA's Research Academy.

In her free time, she enjoys time with her dog & playing tennis.
