Brief Biography
Anaïs Valiquette L’Heureux is an accomplished Associate Professor of Public Administration. She holds a Ph.D. in the field and has ten years of experience teaching Master’s-level courses at ENAP and CSU.
Her teaching philosophy centers on empowering diverse student bodies with practical skills and impactful knowledge. She has extensive experience developing and teaching core courses in public administration, nonprofit management, policy evaluation, and ethics.
Anaïs has championed significant program development initiatives, including the redesign of the MPA program’s Public Sector Management and Leadership and nonprofit tracks, as well as the establishment of a new Data-Driven Governance track. In addition, she has supervised the Graduate Project of over 500 students.
Anaïs is a forward-thinking scholar in the fields of disaster preparedness and public sector resilience and maintains a strong publication record. Her foundational work analyzes regulatory failures, as demonstrated in her doctoral thesis on the Lac-Mégantic tragedy. She applies this expertise to contemporary crises, including the Lahaina fires and the Red Hill water contamination crisis. Her work was published in leading journals such as the International Journal of Disaster Risk Science and Public Integrity. She secured a $180,000 prevention research partnership with the City of Beverly Hills.
Outside of academia, Anaïs enjoys playing the piano, photography, scuba diving, and big-wave surfing.
