Barbara Gross joined CSUN in 1994 as a faculty member in the Department of Marketing. She completed her doctorate from the University of Southern California in 1992. From 2006-2013, Dr. Gross served as the university’s Chief of Staff in the Office of the President, and returned to the faculty of the Nazarian College in 2014. She has since served as Business Honors Program Director and Assurance of Learning Director for the Nazarian College, and as Chair of the Marketing Department. Barbara retired in 2018 and currently participates in the Faculty Early Retirement Program (FERP). As a FERP faculty member she provides academic advisement to upper-division business students in the Office of the Associate Dean.

Barbara has taught courses in marketing management, consumer behavior, retailing, and small business consulting. Her research interests include consumer behavior and marketing education. She has published in the Journal of Marketing, Research in Consumer Behavior, Advances in Consumer Research, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Interactive Marketing, Journal of Marketing Education, Journal of Education for Business, Alberta Journal of Educational Research, and Marketing Education Review. She is a co-author of Consumption Values and Market Choices: Theory and Applications published by South-Western Publishing. She served as an officer of the Marketing Educators Association (MEA) in 2006-2010 and is a current member of the MEA Board of Directors.
