Brief Biography
Dr. Ricks is an Associate Professor at California State University, Northridge and Director of the Center for Southern California Studies. Ricks' specializes in Racial and Ethnic Politics (REP), Local Politics, and Political Leadership. Professor Ricks' employs a qualitative research approach (ethnographic in nature) to better grasp the intersection of race/ethnicity, place, and political incorporation. Ricks is also interested in the impact of diversity, inclusiveness, and equity upon student success.
