Brandon D. Harris is a lecturer of Criminology and Justice Studies at California State University, Northridge. He is a doctoral candidate from California State University, Fullerton with a research focus on sense of belonging and representation as motivation for African American male college students. His current interests lie in learning styles and teaching methods for marginalized students. He pairs his ten years of experience in professional development instruction with the classroom to strengthen transferable skills of his students to help make their passion, their paycheck. He displays these talents in his Careers in Criminal Justice class as well as his Applied Research in CJS courses. His sights are set on managerial positions in higher education where he can help staff and faculty better serve and support students by meeting them at their struggles. He currently is a co-author of a publication highlighting campus programs that close achievement gaps for men of color and hopes the findings will inform the decisions of current leaders in education.
