I have dedicated my career to social equity in education, health, and disability. Recently I was one of four Principal Investigators who won an NIH BUILD award to train as many as 275 undergraduate students annually in biomedical research with a transformative framework of Critical Race Theory. I have conducted extensive research on variations in Latina/o familial reactions to the transition to adulthood of youth with and without disabilities in Los Angeles, Guatemala, and in Juarez, Mexico.
