Celida Vasquez
Lecturer
Brief Biography
I am an alumna of CSUN and USC. I received my bachelor's degree from CSUN and double-majored in Psychology and Child & Adolescent Development. I earned my Master's degree in Social Work from USC a few years later. My academic and professional experience primarily involves working with children, teens, and their families. In addition, most recently, I've been working with Transition-Age Youth (TAY) populations as well as young adults. I have a wide range of professional experiences including working in schools, and as an ABA behavior technician/interventionist.
During the 2 years of my MSW program I transitioned into working in mental health and social services. I briefly worked in transitional housing, this is where my interest in working with adults grew. Currently, I'm an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) working towards licensure. I work as a Domestic Violence Clinician working with low-income domestic violence victims/survivors. Returning to CSUN as a part-time lecturer was not something I ever imagined myself doing, and is something I'm thrilled about as I am looking forward to teaching and mentoring CADV students.
