Brief Biography
Hi everyone! My name is Darcy Edwards and I currently teach CADV 350 and CADV 352. I have an enormous passion for learning about how children develop, educating parents, and educating students while working closely with them to support their goals. I have been working with children since I was sixteen years old as a Lifeguard Instructor teaching swimming lessons. It was in the swimming pool where I developed a deep devotion in early childhood education using the appropriate practices to help guide and shape development. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from CSUN in Child and Adolescent Development and have worked as a behavior therapist and toddler/preschool teacher. I continued my studies and received my Master's Degree in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from CSUN. During grad school I discovered that I enjoyed presenting in front of adults and really enjoyed my experience as a teacher's assistant supporting other students. This led me to where I am today with the CADV department at CSUN working with professors who were my personal mentors when I was pursuing my undergraduate degree. I truly enjoy connecting with students and supporting them in any way I can. For fun, I enjoy working out, running, watching Netflix, and spending time with my family.
