Darlene Woo, MSW, Assistant Director of Field Education for Online and Off-Campus Programs, has been a full-time lecturer at California State University, Northridge – Department of Social Work since August 2019. Administratively, Ms. Woo is responsible for the oversight and implementation of the Online and Off- Campus Field Education Programs. Her responsibilities include: recruiting and developing field practicum sites, recruitment of MSW field instructors, interviewing and matching first and second year students to appropriate internships. Ms. Woo co-develops the field education curriculum and training for new field instructors and preceptors. She teaches the Advanced Field Practicum/Specialist Field Education with Urban Communities I and II. Ms. Woo is involved in creating specialized field education projects and currently is the Co-PI for the Housing Instability Project, a collaboration with CSUN’s Housing Department and Emergency Temporary Housing Program.

Ms. Woo has been a field instructor to graduate-level social work students since 2002. She began her career in academia in 2006 as an adjunct professor in Field Education as a Field Liaison and seminar instructor.

Additionally, Ms. Woo has assisted on research projects involving youth and adults experiencing homelessness. She is an affiliated faculty member with the Center of Artificial Intelligence in Society.
