Brief Biography
Dr. David Schwartz was born in San Pedro California in 1944. He graduated from South High in Torrance, California in 1961. From 1961 to 1966 he attended UC Berkeley where he earned a BS in Engineering Physics and an MS in Engineering Science. As an undergraduate he worked as a student assistant in High Energy Physics. In 1966 he enrolled at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom where he received a Ph.D. from the Material Science Department in 1969.
In 1969 Dr. Schwartz joined the engineering faculty at CSUN. During his years at CSUN. Dr. Schwartz has served at a Department Chair and as Associate Dean. He has taught a variety of courses over the years in the areas of mechanics, materials, electrical engineering and computer science. His hobbies include wood working and building microprocessor based art.
Dr Schwartz retired from CSUN in 2000 and is now teaches one class per semester as an Emeritus Professor of Engineering.
