Brief Biography
Erik Mark Sandberg's educational background encompasses a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree with distinction from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. He has also been a senior lecturer at the Art Center College of Design and OTIS College of Art and Design.
Sandberg's artistic endeavors have garnered recognition in industry publications, including but not limited to New American Paintings, Juxtapoz, Hi-Fructose, Beautiful Bizarre, American Illustration, and Communication Arts. His creative contributions have been featured in exhibitions hosted by galleries nationally and internationally. Among these exhibitions are solo showcases such as 'Golden Pacific' at Thinkspace Projects in Los Angeles, California (2022), 'Atwater' at Det Nya Museet in Stockholm, Sweden (2017), 'The New Pretty' as part of the RMIT University Residency Exhibition in Melbourne, Australia (2011), and 'Get Pretty Now' at the Jonathan Levine Gallery in New York, NY (2011).
Beyond his academic and fine art pursuits, Sandberg has contributed to the commercial illustration field. His illustrious clientele includes Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Anheuser-Busch, The Los Angeles Times, United Airlines, Absolut Vodka, Pepsi, and Vogue Italia.
