Esther joined the Child and Adolescent Development Department and the Elementary Education Department as a part-time lecturer in 2022. Additionally, she has taught, served as a Grade Level Chair and Teacher Mentor at an elementary school in Boyle Heights.

She is currently enrolled in USC's Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership program. Prior to joining CSUN, she Esther earned an M.S. in Educational Studies with a concentration in Early Childhood from Johns Hopkins University in May 2020. She also earned a B.A. in Italian and Special Fields in Philosophy from UCLA and became a Teach for America ‘17 Los Angeles Corps Member, attaining her CA Teaching Credentials from Loyola Marymount University. She has been awarded numerous scholarships that have allowed her to continue to pursue higher education, most notably the Gates Millennium Scholarship.

Esther is a passionate advocate of using education as a tool for liberation by teaching through the lens and practices of justice, equity, inclusion, & diversity.
