Brief Biography
Erika (HeeKyung) Sung is an associate professor in the Department of Recreation and Tourism Management at California State University, Northridge. She earned her Ph.D. from Arizona State University. Her research focuses on the impacts and value of arts and cultural events on local communities and their connections to community development and quality of life. She also studies consumer behavior in hospitality and tourism. Prior to academia, she worked for more than three years as an event planner at the Seongnam Performing Arts Center in Korea. She is currently engaged in research on senior inclusivity and accessibility in tourism and hospitality.
