Heng-i (Vicky) Runyan is a Chinese Instructor in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures. She grew up in Taiwan. She earned her master’s degree at California State University in Long Beach with a focus on teaching Chinese as a foreign language and a bachelor’s degree in Applied Foreign Languages – (English) at Shih Chien University, in Taiwan. She has more than 20 years of teaching experience. She has dedicated most of her life to education.

Vicky loves to work with her students and helps them master the Chinese language and culture. Her students inspire her every day when she works with them. She has a great sense of accomplishment teaching Chinese to her students especially when she sees their improvement in mastering the language.
