Brief Biography
Hilary Yip, PhD, MT-BC, is the Director of the Music Therapy Program at California State University, Northridge. A board-certified music therapist with over a decade of experience and training in Neurologic Music Therapy, she works with individuals across the lifespan in school, healthcare, and community settings.
Her research focuses on music and movement interventions to support motor functioning, particularly in individuals with autism and neurological conditions. She integrates music technology into her work, developing movement-based interventions and digital tools to assess motor timing.
She earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Music Therapy and Psychology from the University of the Pacific, and her Master of Music in Music Therapy and PhD in Music Education (Music Therapy emphasis) from the University of Miami.
