Brief Biography
Dr. Jeremiah Gonzalez is an adjunct professor in the Department of Elementary Education at California State University, Northridge. Dr. Gonzalez is also currently an elementary school principal at Murchison Street Elementary School for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). He previously worked as an elementary school teacher, grade level chair, instructional coach, coordinator, teacher advisor, and adult ESL teacher for LAUSD. In addition, Dr. Gonzalez has experience teaching at the community college, undergraduate, and graduate levels at Los Angeles Mission College, West Chester University of Pennsylvania, Pepperdine University, Claremont Graduate University, and California State University, Northridge. His research interests include issues impacting the education of Latino students, improving educational outcomes for English Learners, and the role of school structure and social capital on educational access. He has presented his research at numerous conferences including the annual meetings of the California Association for Bilingual Education (CABE), the National Association for Multicultural Education (NAME), and the American Educational Research Association (AERA).
