Jill J Razani
Professor
Department Chair - Psychology
Brief Biography
Dr. Jill Razani obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the SDSU-UCSD Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology. After her doctorate, she completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and subsequently, became a board licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California.
She has two active lines of research: 1) one investigates the ability to conduct activities in individuals with different types of cognitive impairment and dementia and exploring how these activities are connected to their neurocognitive functioning, and 2) a second examines the effects of cultural variables (such as level of acculturation and bilingualism) on neuropsychological test performance of healthy immigrant individuals. She has several peer-reviewed publications from both of these lines of research and is the co-author of a popular normative reference book used by clinical neuropsychologists.
She has served as the Director of the Anxiety and Mood Clinic at CSUN since 2001. This university-affiliated clinic provides low-cost psychotherapeutic services to adults in the greater Los Angeles area who are experiencing anxiety and depression.
