Dr. Jing Li joined CSUN in January 2013, and she is currently a professor in the Department of Mathematics. Her research, in applied mathematics, is concerned with using mathematical techniques to describe, understand and predict the dynamics of biological systems in a variety of settings related to epidemiology, ecology, and immunology, as well as in the study of economic and logistical issues involved in disease management. The mathematical techniques used in her research include both techniques from the theory of differential equations such as ordinary differential equations (ODEs), delay differential equations (DDEs), partial differential equations (PDEs) and impulsive differential equations (IDEs), as well as techniques from game theory and network/graph theory. She is fascinated by applied mathematics and the way in which it can be used to describe and guide interdisciplinary research.
