Karen M. Blackwell is a marketing researcher, university educator, strategist, entrepreneur, and former healthcare executive whose career bridges scholarship, business leadership, and service. She teaches marketing and professional selling across several California State University campuses, where she develops applied, inclusive, and research-informed learning experiences that help students translate theory into confident, ethical action.

Before entering higher education, Blackwell spent more than a decade in progressive healthcare leadership roles spanning strategic marketing, market access, sales operations, innovation, and enterprise programs.

Blackwell is the founder and CEO of Arc & Anthem, a research-informed marketing consultancy that helps organizations strengthen strategy, storytelling, customer insight, and sustainable growth. She is also pursuing a Ph.D. in Business (Marketing) at Virginia Tech. Her research examines consumer behavior in healthcare contexts, including interactions with providers, systems, information, digital tools, and emerging technologies, with a broader commitment to research that is inclusive of populations too often overlooked.

Service is a consistent through line across Blackwell's work. She serves as Board Treasurer of the Social Justice Learning Institute, mentors students and emerging professionals, and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
