Brief Biography
Kari is a CSUN Sociology alumna whose been teaching sociology since 2006. Additionally, she teaches sociology in the Los Angeles area men’s and women’s adult correctional facilities. Kari has a background in nonprofit social service work areas of prevention education & community outreach addressing interpersonal violence such as sexual assault, child abuse, domestic violence, gang violence, and bullying. Current areas of interest are in the sociology of religion, environmental sociology, sex & gender inequalities, and mass incarceration in the United States.
