I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. I attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney as an undergraduate. I monitored contaminated soil and groundwater. I lived in Tempe, Arizona for four years while completing a master's degree at Arizona State University. I used a fiber-optic sensor to monitor non-healing wounds. My interdisciplinary PhD was in botany, computer science, and chemistry at the University of California, Riverside. I studied antioxidants in pomegranate juice, how plants survive a flood, chemical warfare between insects and plants, and the aroma of citrus fruits.

I am passionate about motivation, teamwork, and spreading love. Focused on goals, family, and education. Nutrition and science enthusiast. Conquering pain and living a green, active life. Community builder and positivity advocate. Career and hormone-driven. Teaching, interdisciplinary thinking, and lifelong learning. Running, walking, and writing my way through parenthood. Grateful traveler, former grad student, and fearless woman. Dancing through life and embracing every step with joy.
