KC Marie Knox is a full-time Probate Attorney for the Superior Court of California, Los Angeles. She joined the Court in 2018 after being in private practice for over thirteen years, the last three as partner at a law firm based in Woodland Hills, California focusing on advanced estate/tax planning for business owners. The practice was a mix of estate planning/administration/litigation, business and real estate transaction/litigation and corporate formation.
After becoming a Certified Specialist in Wills, Trusts & Estates by the State Bar of California, KC joined the Court and currently analyzes pleadings (applications/petitions/motions) relating to decedent's estates, trusts, guardianships, and conservatorships to give a synopsis of the case, legal analysis, and make recommended rulings to the Judicial Officers sitting in Probate.
Starting in November of 2011, KC began teaching at Abraham Lincoln University School of Law. She was an Adjunct Professor at ALU through March of 2020 teaching Wills, Trusts, & Estate, Legal Research & Writing, Community Property, and Remedies. KC joined the Business Law Department at California State University, Northridge in August of 2019 and began teaching in the Spring of 2020. She has taught Business Law I - 280 (Intro to the Law, Contracts, and Torts), Business Law II - 308 (Business Entities, Agencies, Employment, and Securities), and Business Law 409 (Wills, Trusts & Estates).
