Brief Biography
Dr. Lauren McDonald serves as the Graduate Coordinator for the M.A. Program in Sociology. Her primary research interests are focused in education, social inequality, politics, the media, and evaluation research. Dr. McDonald’s past research has examined how the conservative movement in America has used think tanks, the media and policy planning organizations to influence education policy, how healthcare and immigration policy debates have been framed by FOX and MSNBC political news hosts, how community-based participatory researchers navigate ethical issues, and the academic trajectories of Latina/o/x first-generation college students.
