                            Brief Biography
Growing up in New Jersey with a large signing family, Lee Ann Tang was adopted from China to the United States at age five. She identifies herself as an Asian-American, Chinese adoptee, and Deaf woman. Her pronouns are she, her, and hers. In academics, she’s an educator and a linguist. She obtained B.A. in Deaf Studies from California State University- Northridge '18 and M.A. in Linguistics from Gallaudet University ’21. She has always been immersed in languages, especially signed languages. Outside academics, she is the co-founder and CEO of Asian Signers, an Asian-owned and a Deaf-led nonprofit organization est. 2020, to elevate the awareness about people of Asian descent in Deaf and signing communities.
