Omid Orouji is an interdisciplinary artist and visual designer based in Los Angeles. He received his AA degree in Art History and a BA in Industrial Design by focusing on Human-Compter Interaction (HCI), followed by an MFA in Visual Arts from California State University, Northridge.
While he is interested in conceptual, site-specific, participatory, and process-based projects in his practice, he teaches design and visual courses at universities and colleges. His fine arts practice falls into a wide range of functional design, interactive art, and fine art objects. Status, social norms, power, and hierarchy are among his subject matter.

He taught at California State University Channel Islands, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and currently, he is teaching at California State University, Fullerton, and his home campus, California State University, Northridge, a position he began in 2016.

He is a cubist, Tetris player, Jenga master, and avid coffee maker/consumer.
