Brief Biography
Patti Carr has taught TV writing at CSUN since 2019. She has also served as a Guest Lecturer in TV for Stephens College and California State University, Long Beach, and instructed workshops in TV Writing at The Writing Pad, Los Angeles. She is an active member of both the WGAW and the TV Academy, and has served as a mentor and judge for the TV Academy Internship Program, the College Emmy Awards, and for the WGA Diversity Program.
Patti started her industry career in New York City as a freelance video editor for projects ranging from low-budget movie trailers to high-end escort service catalogs. Moving to Hollywood seemed like a natural transition. Today, Patti is a writer/Showrunner/Executive Producer whose credits range from KIM POSSIBLE and CATDOG (animation) to BOY MEETS WORLD and REBA (half-hour multi-cam) to MIXOLOGY (half-hour single-cam) to PRIVATE PRACTICE, 90210, THE GOOD DOCTOR and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (hour-long drama and sci-fi.) In addition, she has sold and produced pilots in both comedy and drama for networks such as NBC, ABC, CBS, CW, USA and Hulu.
