Rebecca Lustig has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Environmental & Occupational Health at CSUN and is currently working as the Environmental Health & Safety Supervisor (Safety Officer) at Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency. She started her EH career in 2007 at the Ventura County Environmental Health Division. She spent over seven years in the Community Services Section inspecting food facilities and commercial use pools, and approximately one year as a field inspector in the CUPA/Hazardous Materials Section. She was the program specialist in the Land Use and Small Water Systems programs for over three years, conducting discretionary land use permit reviews and water system inspections, as well as coordinating projects which include: the Ventura River Watershed Total Maximum Daily Load Special Study, the Ventura County Local Agency Management Program for septic systems, and revisions to the Ventura County Ordinance Code, Ventura County Building Code and Ventura County Zoning Ordinance as they relate to small water systems, septic systems, and solid waste facilities. In 2019 Rebecca became a Supervising EHS in the Technical Services Section of the Division, supervising staff in the Land Use, Small Water Systems, Liquid Waste, Solid Waste, and Ocean Water Quality Monitoring programs. She is a Registered Environmental Health Specialist and has a Grade D1 Water Distribution Operator Certification.
