Richard Horowitz is a Professor in the Department of History at California State University, Northridge. He was trained as a historian of early modern and modern China, but travel and teaching led him to develop a secondary specialization in world history. He teaches classes on China, Japan, East Asia, and World history, as well as historical theory and methods. His research interests include in nineteenth and early twentieth century China, world history, imperialism and the history of international law.
