Robert Espinoza earned his BS in Biology at San Diego State University and Ph.D. in Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology at the University of Nevada, Reno. He spent a year as a post-doctoral fellow at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and began his academic career at CSUN in 2001. He is currently a Professor of Biology and a Special Assistant to the Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics. His research interests are in the physiology, ecology, behavior, and evolution of amphibians and reptiles.
