Director and Lead Principal Investigator, AIMS2 Program - Engineering and Computer Science

S. K. Ramesh is a Professor of ECE and Director and Lead PI of the AIMS2 program. This multi-institutional nationally recognized program was supported with a five year, $ 6 Million grant from the US Department of Education and follows a five year, $ 5.5 Million grant also led by Dr. Ramesh. The program was recognized by UEDA as the 2021 Award of Excellence winner, and by Excelencia as the 2019 Example of Excelencia in the baccalaureate program category. For more information on the program please visit www.ecs.csun.edu/aims2. Dr. Ramesh served as Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science from Aug 2006- Aug 2017. Earlier he was Professor of Electrical Engineering CSU, Sacramento where he was the Department Chair from '94 to '06. Dr. Ramesh is an IEEE Fellow recognized for his contributions to entrepreneurship in engineering education. As the 2016-17 Vice President, IEEE Educational Activities, he served on the IEEE Board of Directors. He has served as the 2016 President of IEEE-HKN, the international Electrical Engineering Honor Society and in leadership roles on the IEEE Awards Board, Publications Board, and Fellows Committee. Dr. Ramesh has served ABET (the global accreditation organization) in multiple roles as a Program Evaluator representing IEEE, as a member of the ABET Board of Directors and Board of Delegates representing IEEE, and was elected as the 2022-23 President of ABET.
