The purpose of this study is to conduct an analysis that quantifies the beam (main lobe) pointing measurement accuracy of a system under test (SUT). The SUT switched-beam pointing tests shall be performed in a chamber in which the measurement probe antennas may be located in the SUT antenna's Fresnel zone (at the highest frequency of interest). The study shall assess candidate beam pointing measurement approaches and recommend the preferred technique that minimizes measurement error defined as the difference between commanded and measured angles. The beam pointing figure of merit, FOM, is defined as the measurement error divided by the average radius of the -0.5dB main lobe shape contour.
