In this project we will develop computational models of cardiac cell and tissue in heart failure. These computational studies will be performed using experimental data acquired in Dr. John Wasserstrom's laboratory at Northwestern University. The computer simulations and model development will be carried out by Dr Yohannes Shiferaw (principal investigator), a postdoctoral research associate, and two graduate students. The postdoc and graduate students will be supervised by Dr. Shiferaw. All computer simulations will be performed on a dedicated computational cluster housed in the Physics Department at California State University Northridge.
