The Prevention & Aftercare Program, funded by the LAC Department of Children & Family Services, is designed to address the underlying causes of child maltreatment, including poverty, social isolation, under-education, racism/classism, marginalization of community members, social/emotional instability, etc., in order to reduce/eliminate child maltreatment and foster child and family well-being. The P & A Program develops and implements activities that increase family protective factors in order to ensure family safety, economic stability and enhanced social/community connections.
