Jumpstart is a national early education non-profit organization that recruits and trains college students to serve at-risk preschool children in low-income neighborhoods. Its goal is to better prepare children for Kindergarten by helping them to develop their literacy and their problem solving and social skills. Forty CSUN students, from a variety of majors, serve as corps members annually. Funding for corps members is provided by Federal Work Study and Americorps.
Jumpstart has expressed interested in collaborating with CSUN faculty on research related to their program.
