Controlling microstructural reactions in Al-Al combination resistance welding is critical to obtaining good joint properties. Potential interactions include local melting, dendritic structure formation, ageing and over ageing, in addition to formation of void and liquation cracking. Within this phase several actions will be carried out to characterize materials reactions against welding procedures. Environmental legislations and production durability are only a few factors that are forcing Faraday Future, as a car manufacturers, to maintain global competitiveness. This would be achieved through design optimization or lightweight materials substitution or combination of both. However, issues raised due to materials incompatibility, corrosion, design characteristics and production sequences must be tackled within this manufacturing medium.
