California Social Work Education Center will distribute funding to The University Corporation for the purposes of providing stipends to MSW students and partial program support. The goals of the CalSWEC Mental Health Program are to increase the quantity and diversity of the behavioral health social work workforce, to ensure high-quality, cost-effective preparation of an MSW workforce for recovery-oriented work in public/contract settings to meet the service needs of diverse populations, and to increase access to MSW education for students planning behavioral health careers, especially in counties with demonstrated workforce shortages.
