The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) supports a research and development program for the development of the next generation energy storage and conversion technologies. This includes, but limited to, materials for the use in fuel cells, electrolyzer catalysts, battery materials, gas storage and separation, electrochemical energy storage, thermochemical energy storage, solar cells, molecular and process modelling, biological systems/environments, and advanced photo-catalysts for chemical manufacturing. Advanced analytical techniques and expertise in these DOE research areas are necessary to advance ongoing projects at the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL). California State University Northridge (CSUN) has the faculty, analytical, and computational capabilities necessary to characterize and understand the chemicals, materials, or devices from SRNL through this Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA). No deviations or exceptions to the solicitation, proposed BOA and its attachments, are taken related to the technical or commercial requirements. A sub-contract currently exists between SRNL and CSUN for a project titled ?Material Development and Characterization for Energy Storage and Conversion Devices? (Sub Contract # 0000364652) with a current end date of 06/14/2020. The technical support and expertise supplied to SRNL through a sub-contract is similar to the potential Task Order Agreements (TOAs) that will be issued as a part of this BOA. The establishment of this BOA will not impact the work that is part of that previously established sub-contract. The technical support in this BOA will be applied to new TOAs.
