Mentoring is a key to success in basic biomedical sciences. The National Research Mentoring Network has been established to help improve outcomes of historically underrepresented people in basic biomedical and behavioral sciences in earning advanced degrees. The goal is to establish a robust national network of trained effective mentor. This nation-wide program is composed of five cores. They each have a specific role in developing programs to broaden participation. They NRMN Cores are: the Administrative Core, Mentor Training Core, Professional Development Core, Research Resources and Outreach Cor and the Mentorship and Networking Core.
