Brief Biography
Biography
Welcome to 502 MM!! I am thrilled to be teaching this class for the fourth semester! I started my career as a French and ELD teacher in LAUSD many years ago after getting my first credential at CSUN. After taking some time off to stay home with my daughters (now 20 and 16), I decided to return to CSUN to earn my Education Specialist and MA in SPED Mild/Moderate and it was the best professional decision I've ever made, especially since I did my program at CSUN and loved every class I took.
I returned to LAUSD in 2008 as an RSP Teacher, co-teaching in both Math and ELA initially, but primarily in ELA grades 9, 10, and 11. In 2015 I became a Title III Coach at my school and in 2017 I became an Intervention Coach for the Literate Adolescents Intervention Project at CSUN, working at two high schools in the North Valley. This program is funded through a Federal Grant through the Office of Special Education Programs and is headed by four of our wonderful CSUN SPED faculty members, Dr. Spencer, Dr. Sears, Dr. Goodwin, and Dr. Burstein.
