I am a lecturer in the Departments of English and Chicana/o Studies at California State University, Northridge, where I teach writing, rhetoric, public speaking, cultural studies, and Chicana/o and Latina/o/x literature. My teaching is grounded in Chicana and queer Xicana feminist thought and centers the histories, knowledge, and lived experiences students bring into the classroom.

I am also a scholar, playwright, director, and filmmaker whose research and creative work explore Chicana feminism, gender, cultural identity, memory, Mesoamerican histories and cultural traditions, autonomous social movements, and community-based cultural production. Through my work in theater and film, I examine questions of power, representation, and coloniality, including cultural appropriation, racialized policing and state violence, health inequities, and the ways Chicana and Latina communities navigate culture, gender, family, and systems of power. My scholarship informs my creative practice, and my creative work extends the questions I examine in the classroom and through my research.
