Meet Dr. Vidya Nandikolla, an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at California State University Northridge (CSUN). Since 2014, Dr. Nandikolla has been a dedicated contributor to the fields of robotics and engineering within the college. Her research focuses on robotics, autonomous vehicles, biomedical system modeling and control, hybrid control techniques, mechatronics, and assistive robotics. With over 10 years of experience in robotic system design, she has authored numerous peer-reviewed journals and conference papers in the areas of robotics, system dynamics, and control. Currently, Dr. Nandikolla leads a research team working on the development and testing of a Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) hybrid control smart autonomous mobile robot, employing machine learning for pattern recognition.
Throughout her career, Dr. Nandikolla has held various academic positions, serving as an Assistant Professor at CSUN from 2014 to 2019 and previously at Philadelphia University from 2009 to 2014. Her early academic ventures also include a role as a Research Assistant Professor at Boise State University from 2006 to 2009.
Committed to professional development and collaboration, Dr. Nandikolla is an active member of several esteemed professional organizations. She contributes her expertise to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Society of Engineering Education, and the Society of Women Engineers currently.
