Brief Biography
Xunfei Jiang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and a faculty member of the Autonomy Research Center for STEAHM (ARCS) at CSUN. She is also the Principal Investigator (PI) for the NSF funded REU Site: Applying Data Science on Energy-efficient Cluster Systems and Applications, and a core team member for the USDE funded SECURE for Student Success (SfS2) program at CSUN. She has served as the faculty advisor for CSUN ACM Student Chapter since fall 2020.
She had taught a host of computer science courses, including Introduction to Programming, Data Structure, Algorithms, Computer Organization, Operating Systems, Computer Graphics, Senior Design Project, Parallel and Distributed Computing, etc. Her research focuses on energy-efficient storage system, thermal-aware resource management on cluster and cloud computing, and spatial database systems. She has published more than 40 papers, served as program committee for several conferences, and served as reviewers for more than 10 journals and conferences. She has mentored both undergraduate students and master students in various research projects, and published co-authored papers with her students.
She has been working on promoting female and under-represented students in Computer Science study in the past 10 years, and she had encouraged and brought many students to attend various conferences, such as Grace Hopper Conferece, Tapia, and ACM SIGCSE.
