Zachary Helsper is an adjunct instructor in the Academic First Year Experiences program at California State University, Northridge, where he teaches UNIV 100: Freshman Seminar. He has taught first-year undergraduate students for two years, supporting their academic transition to college through a student-centered and equity-minded approach to teaching. His instruction emphasizes belonging, self-advocacy, and the development of strategies that help students navigate institutional systems and succeed in higher education.

In addition to his teaching role, Zachary serves as Senior Strategist for Student Equity Initiatives in the CSUN Office of Student Success. In this capacity, he conducts equity-minded data analyses of student performance outcomes to identify equity gaps and recommend strategic interventions that promote student success. He regularly integrates this professional experience into his teaching, connecting course content to real-world applications in higher education and student support.

Zachary holds a Master of Education in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
