Brief Biography
Dr. Sharifiheris is driven by a passion for advancing maternal and neonatal care through the integration of implementation science, computational modeling, and emerging technologies. Her research focuses on developing efficient and feasible predictive models for life-threatening pregnancy complications including preterm birth and gestational diabetes.
By incorporating remote sensing technologies, she aims to uncover the underlying pathophysiology of these conditions, enabling early identification and timely intervention to improve pregnancy outcomes. She is also committed to the thoughtful and ethical integration of artificial intelligence in healthcare, particularly in enhancing clinical decision-making and tailoring interventions to patient needs.
Because of the complexity of these issues, Dr. Sharifiheris values interdisciplinary collaboration, recognizing that partnerships across fields such as public health, data science, engineering, and clinical practice are essential for developing innovative and impactful solutions.
