One thing that inspires me to do my research is...

solving the puzzle of how pathogens use their host to grow, replicate and survive.

How has your personal background influenced your work at CSUN?

My personal background, growing up in a family where both my parents were educated and all my siblings went to college, influenced me to continue my academic career to the Ph.D. level. The Ph.D. has allowed me to become an educator and researcher and at CSUN---combining those two brings me great fulfillment.

Why do you like to work here?

Working at CSUN allows me to interact with a diverse array of students, staff and faculty. Overall, everyone is very nice and congenial to one another.
