Dr. Qais Amarkhil is an Assistant Professor at California State University, Northridge. He is a Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He holds a Certificate in Effective Teaching Practices from the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) and has completed formal training in teaching methodology and pedagogy. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and his master’s and Ph.D. in Construction Engineering and Management from Purdue University. He is a two-time Fulbright Scholar, Rotary Peace Fellow, and a recipient of awards, including the Engineers’ Council Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award. He serves as an Associate Editor for the ASCE Journal of Structural Design and Construction and is active as a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals in construction engineering, construction management, and civil engineering. His research focuses on construction operations, BIM, scheduling, automation, simulation, optimization, and AI in construction to improve planning, decision-making, and project performance. He has over seven years of construction industry experience.
