My name is Ricardo Medina, Ph.D., I graduated from University of California Irvine with a degree in Civil Engineering and was a postdoctoral research associate at the Orange County Water District.
My research interests are in the field of hydrology, groundwater flow and modeling, and physico-chemical processes in fracture flow. Previous projects were aimed at improving the understanding of fundamental processes of suspended solids flowing through and settling inside fractured media (i.e. rock fractures). Through the use of innovative imaging methods and experimental setup I investigated the settling behavior of multi-phase multi-component suspensions inside fractures subjected to normal stresses.
