Transforming STEM Teaching Faculty Learning Program is a program designed as part of an NSF-WIDER Grant, and is now being more broadly implemented as part of an NSF-Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE) Grant, to help instructors of large lecture STEM courses enhance their teaching practices and improve student learning gains. The program focuses on three main goals: (1) helping faculty learn about effective STEM teaching practices within higher education, (2) helping them use this knowledge to redesign their courses, and (3) providing a community of fellow instructors to help support this progress. The Faculty Learning Program is designed to help faculty explore active learning designs that lead to greater student engagement, improve students? conversations and questions, and help instructors better identify student misconceptions. It also strives to help instructors put this knowledge into immediate action.
