Engage, Educate, Empower: Effecting energy efficiency and water conservation behavior change (citywide)

This project involves outreach and education through workshops for K-12 schools, their students, and parents, focusing on energy conservation and efficiency, water conservation, and LADWP's community solar program. The project will also provide community workshops and outreach to local businesses by CSUN students.

Thirty-six teachers from six high schools, six middle schools and six elementary schools in the San Fernando Valley will take part in a training program in energy and water conservation that prepares them to engage students in related activities in their school classrooms. Tree Planting and Education in a Next Century Public School

The goals of the project are to provide much-needed greenery to a very disadvantaged neighborhood, to beautify the landscape, shade buildings, remove pollutants from the air, sequester carbon dioxide, and provide food and habitat for many insects, birds and animals.
